Denizens of the Manor

(The Inhabitants of Ravenscroft Manor - MORE COMING SOON!)
Picture

Baron Ravenscroft

Baron Victor von Ravenscroft... Infamous master of Ravenscroft Manor, was thought to have been many things: a warlock, a necromancer, a vampire... Call him what you will, but he was evil incarnate. Legend has it the Baron was not entirely of this world. His origins are filled with mystery, and most that have come too close have paid a horrific price. It is rumored that the area, now centuries later known as Mahwah,  held the key to whatever the Baron and his coterie of associates were originally plotting… But only the dead truly know. Now the winds whisper that the Baron's return may be imminent. And if it is true, his revenge will engulf not only Mahwah, but the entire world!

Picture

Thanatos: God of Death

While most of the coterie of Baron Ravenscroft was born of evil, Thanatos's origins are not. Since the dawn of time, Thanatos, the god of death & his servants, the Harbingers of Death, have guided the souls from this world into the next... be it to salvation or damnation. Now, through the Baron's powers of chaos, Thanatos and his kin are trapped in the physical world, leaving them as monstrous wraiths and Thanatos himself deformed & corrupted into a dark lich. He now serves the Baron by siphoning souls from the wheel of fate, for the Baron to use in his experiments or worse... to devour. Beware, mighty Thanatos! For your soul is only safe... if you can stay alive!

Picture

Hester Tillinghast

Poor Hester... her fate was sealed when she became the Baroness of Ravenscroft Manor. She was the daughter of a sea captain who owned a fleet of ships out of Arkham, Massachusetts. When Hester passed years later, she too, cursed the villagers of New Barbados, that she would return to feed upon the blood of the villagers and be reunited with the Baron. And if their curse has indeed come true, it would mean that Hester has returned as a vampire. Ready to wreak her revenge upon all in her path for their actions against them. It is only a matter of time before she leaves the halls of Ravenscroft Manor…  to feed upon the so-called 'innocent'!

Picture

Father Azathoth

Azathoth... The Demon Sultan, who dwells on the throne at the center of ultimate chaos, often send an avatar to each of the dimensions to which he holds dominion. In this case, he has sent his personal seneschal to assist his son... Baron Ravenscroft. Ironically named "Father Azathoth", this eldritch wraith exists solely to aid the Baron and help carry out his plans, often acting as his advisor and voice of his father. However, Father Azathoth's loyalty is an iron-clad devotion. If the Baron or any of his coterie of eldritch terrors were to be placed in harm's way, he would think nothing of tearing its soul apart with a single look. Beware the evil eye of Father Azathoth!

Picture

Grym  Draugrwulf

The Great Hellhound of the Aesir, Grym Draugrwulf has been with the Baron since the beginning. Grym was raised as a pup by the Baron and has served him for thousands of years. And for his loyalty, the Baron gave him the power to shapeshift. This dark Norse berserker is the eldest Lycan in history and has the power to command all were-creatures in the world. Grym's human appearance, a strong Viking warrior, masks his powers to change into many creatures from this world and beyond. But to see his true form, has brought thousands to madness & death. A giant, monstrous dire wolf with an endless thirst for blood & violence that sparked the Norse legend of Fenrir. If Grym Draugerwulf has been summoned... a dark blood hunt is about to begin!

Picture

Madame Keziah

A mathematician, turned witch... Keziah's obsession with learning led her down a dark path when villagers witnessed the walls of her home glowing green. Still frightened from the memories of the Baron, they labeled her a witch, and a mob descended on to her home. But as they approached, a large rat-like creature was seen running inside to warn Keziah. As the mob entered, they were blinded by a burst of green light and knocked back by a set of large tentacles, allowing Keziah & her familiar to vanish. Legend claims she had found something within the Manor to gain these incredible powers and was attempting to awaken the Baron. Now, after 300 years, rumors have spread of their return!

Picture

Alexander frees

A descendant of the Baron, Alexander was born and raised in Arkham. The youth's fate was sealed when a violet-shaded comet crashed into the field of the family farm, leading to a mysterious famine, mutating their livestock, and the disappearance of his family. In an attempt to quell the curse, Alexander ventured out to find and destroy the comet. However, as he attempted to smash it, the comet's dark force attacked and corrupted him, putting Alexander into a manicial rampage which led to the destruction of their farm and anything in his path. Emerging after many decades, Alexander has now returned to join forces with the Baron in order to feed the comet's horrific curse!

Picture

Prof. Berthold Vakarus

Secretly, the grandson of the infamous Dr. Herbert West, Prof. Berthold Vakarus has taken refuge with the Baron in order to help with his experiments.  The new-age Re-Animator, serves as both the Dean of Miskitonic University & as a student of the Baron's necromancy. In turn, the ol' Professor helps the Baron with anything he needs within the confines of the University. The Professor's latest creation is being funded by the Baron personally and could mean disaster to the entire world... A syrum that the Baron can easily raise a massive army of the dead!

Picture

Symon Whateley

Almost a century ago, a series of horrific & bloody events occurred in the backwoods town of Dunwich, Massachusetts. The catalyst of those events was a set of half-human twins... one that was killed by a pair of watchdogs, the other killed by eldritch means by the brave Professor Henry Armitage. But the Professor miscalculated his spell... and the "Dunwich Horror" wasn't killed, only banished from our world. Now, the gluttonous giant nightmare of writhing tentacles has been given human form by one other than Baron Ravenscroft.  Symon Whateley now walks our world, summoned from the abyss by the Baron to complete his brother & grandfather's work, thirsting for revenge!

Picture

Lavinia Pickman

The poor souls who have inhabited the Necromantic Nursery of Ravenscroft Manor, have come to find that eyes are always watching. Lavinia is no exception to this, as she haunts the nursery with her "friends", possessed dolls and toys, who entertain her as she waits for a human playmate. Lavinia was once the daughter of the Ravenscroft's Governess, who used to play with the Ravenscroft children. When the villagers raided the manor, Lavinia was accidentally murdered by the mob. Feeling sorry for her, the dolls and toys in the nursery came together and made her a part of the room, so she would always be there to play with them even after death. But Lavinia is always looking for my playmates... Will you stay and play with her?

Picture

Lady Sara Nightingale

A powerful witch and seer from the turn of the 19th century Ireland, Lady Nightingale was discovered by his majesty, King George III, and made a member of the Queen’s Court in service to the king. When asked for a vision of the future of the House of Hanover, she had gotten the spell wrong and opened a time rift, where she was found by Baron Ravenscroft. The Baron struck a deal with Lady Nightingale to help increase her powers and transported her to the year 2025. Now she spends her time in the Manor's Eldritch Library, studying to make sure she never makes the same mistake again.

Picture

Countess Anya Kigyo

The infamous house of Bathory has more than one great Countess... And none more dangerous than Anya Kigyo. For she is the first of the dynasty & the immortal queen of the ancient race known as the Deep Ones. Anya & her consort Dagon have served the Baron for thousands of years... and their origins go back to the long sunken city of R'yleh. She rules the waters of the earth, and her beauty has captivated many through the millennia. However, she is the true origin of the Greek myth of Medusa, often taking the form of a great dragon with hundreds of serpents for her hair. If Anya has been summoned, none will escape the clutches of the Great Mother Hydra and her children!

Picture

Nyarlathotep

Our world doesn't have just one prince of chaos... but two!  Nyarlathotep is the twin brother of Baron Ravenscroft (Thothugalugal), and works in the shadows carrying out the will of the Elder Gods.  He delights in orchestrating the destruction of mankind... offering eldritch knowledge to history's most brilliant people. Only that knowledge leads to massive casualties in the end. It was Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos, who led Abdul Alhazred to create the infamous Necronomicon. It was Nyarlathotep who led to the Salem Witch Trials, World Wars, cataclysmic disasters, and even the Manhattan Project, which brought mass destruction of thousands in an instant.

Picture

maestro lucian mortis

Maestro Lucian Mortis, a brilliant musician during the 17th century... met the Baron at a performance in front of both Emperor Matthias II & Countess Bathory. Enthralled with his talents, the Baron offered to hire Lucian to become a part of his house, and make his music immortal. Knowing the Baron's influence in the courts of Europe, Lucian agreed. The Baron crafted the finest pipe organ ever seen, becoming the star of the new music hall within the manor.  Fame was swift for Lucian but not without a great cost, for the organ was cursed & shortly it turned on him, trapping the Maestro’s spirit so he could never leave! To this day the cursed organ is still heard in the manors' unhallowed halls, playing with its poor master's lament.

Picture

Ravenscroft Manor

The haunted palace of Baron Ravenscroft is much more than a home... it is a creature of pure chaos! It can travel anywhere and can change its appearance both inside and out, simply by its master's command. The Manor can suspend time & space by traveling to the dark dimension from where the Baron himself was born, causing all living creatures within to not age at all. While this forced immortality may seem like a blessing, the Manor feeds itself slowly by draining its guests of their free will, exposing their deepest fears while easily being swayed by the Baron’s influence. According to the dreaded passages of the Necronomicon, only one being could possibly hold this much power. And if it truly is Yog-Sothoth, our world is doomed!

Picture

Thothugalugal

An ancient evil that claimed our world as its home... The Greeks called him Typhon, the Egyptians called him Apophis, few know his true name... Thothugalugal! He is the father of monsters, son of the Elder God Azathoth, twin brother of Nyarlathotep, and the great-grandfather of the diabolical Cthulhu. He is the Winged Chaos, a true calamity sent to our world millions of years ago.  This beastly eldritch god is a massive monster of nightmarish proportions. Three heads like demon ravens, two sets of wings, two sets of arms with razor-sharp claws, its upper body like that of a dragon, and its lower half like a massive centipede. His skin is a mass of scales and feathers, and his stomach is another gigantic mouth used for devouring the souls of its prey. For millions of years, he has feasted on the souls of the living and continues his reign of terror on earth in his human form... Baron Ravenscroft!

The Bestiary of
Ravenscroft Manor

Below are the creatures that serve the Baron and the Denizens of Ravenscroft Manor.

Picture

Harfang and the Armata de Strigoi

The Baron's loyal servant and faithful pet, Harfang! The dreaded demon vampire. Through the millenia, like the Baron, Harfang has carved out his own legacy... Creating the infamous warrior shapeshifting vampires known as the Strigoi of eastern europe, and the Camazotes, Skinwalkers & Wendigos of the Americas.  Harfang commands the legion of Strigoi that serve the Baron & Baroness of the House of Ravenscroft.  But unlike his children, he choses to remain in his bat-like form, hiding his true self. An angelic human? A giant demon? You will only know upon your death, when he finds you!

Picture

Galskap & Aedra

The diabolical twins of evil... Galskap & Aedra are the guardians of the Baron. Like the infamous Huginn & Muninn who serve Odin, these murderous demon ravens watch & listen over great distances, reporting telepathically back to their master.  But this is where the similarities to those ravens end, for Galskap & Aedra can assume other forms, as well as command a flock of evil Whippoorwills capable of taking the soul of whomever their master wishes. In the presence of Baron Ravenscroft, never trust the sound of a bird... for they may be the agents of Galskap & Aedra watching your every move, preparing for your inevitable doom!

Picture

The Violet-Bourne

Behold the horrific fate of the Frees family & their homestead, damned by the power of the parasitic “colour out of space”... the Violet-Bourne! They are the product of the sinister entity from within the glowing comet that struck the Frees' farm. The comet has vast & destructive powers. possessing both plants & animals like zombies, it can drain & devour its victims' energy, turning its hosts literally to dust. But of all its diabolical powers, none are as monstrous as its ability to conjoin multiple organisms together into nightmarish creatures, hulking, disgusting beasts known as the Violet Abominations. To make matters worse, Alexander Frees & the Violet-Bourne now serve Baron Ravenscroft!

Picture

The Shoggoths

Of all of the servants of Baron Ravenscroft, no other creatures in his eldritch bestiary can compare to the hellish putrescence as the Shoggoths. These creatures are born of pure chaos, and their mere appearance can send whoever encounters them into utter terror and madness.  These amorphous-marauding husks of flesh, tentacles, multiple eyes, limbs, mouths, claws, and fangs can devour almost anything in their path. If that is not enough to simply sends shivers down your spine... they immense strength and possess the ability to change their shape, mimic sounds, and even manifest from the very shadows upon the Baron's command.  Pay close attention to the darkness, for the Shoggoths may be stalking your every move.

Picture

The Keres

The Seven Sisters of Thanatos. Unlike their brother & the Harbingers of Death... these dark Valkyries have always been inherently evil. For they are demigoddesses of Violent Death. While appearing as beautiful sirens with dragon wings and sensuality... it masks the demoness that lies within. A mix of vampire, succubi, siren, & demon... they expertly & literally rip the souls in an agonizing fury, forever leaving the corpses almost frozen in pain and terror. They are Thanatos’s main assassins... and serve him and the Baron with fanatical loyalty. Beware the whispers of a woman in the night, in battle or alone in the dark... for the Keres are stalking their prey, and you may be next.

Picture

 The harbingers of death

The Harbingers each represent the nine deaths... by Combat, Disease, Famine, Mechanical, Natural, Pestilence, Predation, Suicide, & Supernatural.  They serve Lord Thanatos by collecting souls based upon the way they died. The Harbingers are generals, each with their own army of reapers to assist in their master's work. These once proud and noble demigods were corrupted by the same force as their master and have become twisted with madness & malice towards humanity, thanks to the diabolical curse of Baron Ravenscroft. Like the Keres, the dark Valkyries who also serve Thanatos, the Harbingers appear in different guises... but it will assuredly mean your own death!

Picture

The Riftweavers

The ruthless & gargantuan Riftweavers are a unique species of Leng Spiders. They serve the Elder Gods by cleaning and maintaining the dimensional rifts, so no trespassers may linger there.  While the Rifts are a gateway for the Elder Gods to travel through the cosmos, other creatures have found their way in.  Humans in the past few thousand years have also come by the dimensional rifts, and a select few know what lurks there.  With the recent events at Ravenscroft Manor, these demonic spiders are on guard to make sure nothing disturbs the Rift that has opened.  Beware their glowing silk as these spiders are hungry... and the Baron has promised their queen a feast for the ages!

Picture

The Get of Hydra

The old docks of the estate were once home to Baron Ravenscroft's sailors & their families, who came from up north in Arkham & Innsmouth. These individuals are particularly affected by Mother Hydra and Father Dagon. The younger generations would work the docks, as Mother Hydra's gift did not mature until they were older.  The elders who matured fully into their mother's gift, would work the interior of the vessels or warehouses to stay out of sight. While these half-breed amphibious humanoids maintain much of their human stature, a chosen few are given "Jörmungandr's Touch", fully transforming into the infamous Deep Ones of old... part human, part reptile & part fish. With the Baron's return, the waters around the estate are no longer safe.

Characters of the Past...

Below are former servants of Baron Ravenscroft who have gone missing.  Rumor has it that they have either successfully fled from the clutches of his dark sorcery... Or may have met the end that they so richly deserved.
One thing is for certain, nothing in Ravenscroft Manor is ever truly gone... As the immortal words of HP Lovecraft state, "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die."

Picture

Leif Ewan Stitches

The sinister Leif Ewan Stitches, a crazed clown that came of Ravenscroft Manor only recently looking for refuge from his crimes catching up with him.  Always the trickster, Stitches stumbled across the library of the Baron and realized he could create his own little haven within the confines of the Ravenscroft Estate.  He brought in his old friend Docteur Grand-Guignol to help him with this new "act" to attract more victims to the manor by throwing a little circus party & sideshow and invite the townsfolk inside to have fun... at their own expense.  At the same time, he hoped to take advantage of the manor being abandoned, and make a profit off of selling all the eccentric pieces within its walls.

However, both Leif and the Docteur’s greed had dire affects and accidently resurrected the Baron from his slumber. Stitches may be sinister... but unleashing the Baron was not part of his plan, and now he finds himself to be a pawn in a dark web of mysteries. Instead of the Baron taking revenge on the trespassers, he placed both criminals in his service. As a reward, Leif was given riches as he so desired… in return, he must continue to bring souls into the manor for the Baron to continue his work.  But now, poor Leif finds himself possessed by the powers he accidently unleashed, and periodically goes on macabre hunts in the night to find victims of his own. However he can only stop this bloodlust if he obeys his new master’s plans. Or else, Leif’s thirst for murder will become uncontrollable.

Will Leif leave YOU in Stitches?  We shall see!

Picture

 Docteur GranD-Guignol

For all the twisted individuals to enter Ravenscroft Manor, perhaps it is “the good docteur”  who found the most solace. The diabolical Docteur Grand-Guignol is a master sideshow owner who has traveled the world over, bringing the most macabre spectacles from Europe.  Delighting in the dark theatre, his Sideshow of Horrors puts fear and anxiety into those whom would attend it.  The monstrous acts and creatures have put terror into those whom would watch his shows.  However once his old friend Stitches found a new place to call home, he couldn't pass it up.  To have an old spooky manor to play host to his sideshow?  Why not!?

When he arrived, Stitches immediately brought the docteur up to speed on his plan to sell all the loot inside… but shortly after they began pilfering the items with the manor… he came face to face with the Baron himself.  And for Stitches, now in the employ of the Baron, if he and the docteur wish to carry out their plans, they must both serve him with "entertainment" and bring fresh souls to the manor.  If not, their souls would become forefit to him!  The docteur saw this as an opportunity and gladly offered his services to the Baron. In return for being obedient to his new master, he asked only that the Baron teach him some of his tricks.  Unlike Stitches, the Baron saw a bit of himself in the docteur, and began teaching him some of his methods of Necromancy to help his sideshow and maximize the fear.  Grand-Guignol now controls the newly hypnotized & zombified staff of the sideshow, while allowing the Baron to feed on the fear off the patrons.  This deal was signed in blood and the docteur, now twisted and insane with his master's influence, now looks to not only perform the best between himself and Stitches, but plans on stealing the show.

Will the good docteur hypnotize YOU with his new powers? We shall see!
