Ravenscroft Manor will Return! Better than ever in 2023!
We look forward to scaring you again this season!
Something Wicked lurks in the old Ravenscroft Manor in Mahwah... It is said that long ago, there lived a Baron from Europe who moved to the Highlands of New Jersey with a wealth of knowledge. Over time the citizens grew used to the eccentric Baron as he would hold lavish parties for the citizens to attend, showing off many antiquities from his many adventures around the world. However, his parties were usually followed in tragedy. Some townsfolk would often disappear afterwards, never to be seen again. Many ignored it, thinking that they ran off. But it wasn't until much later that the truth of the old Baron was revealed.
A vengeful townsman tried convincing the townspeople that the Baron not only was the cause of these disappearances, but was offering the people as sacrifices to some eldritch terror. At first, they paid no heed to these ravings... until one night during a horrific storm a loud wailing was heard from the manor. The sounds of the Baron yelling in the halls of the manor, the storm growing stronger as if to hide the sounds of some horrid creature roaring among the trees. The roaring so loud it shook the very foundations of the houses of the town. Only coming to an end with a loud scream of a woman, and the final roar of said creature.
The townspeople tired to ignore it, but finally decided after years of these disappearances and these strange storms... maybe the vengeful townsman was right? The townspeople, tired of living in fear, stormed the Baron's manor, looking to burn him as a warlock. Many went in once they breached the gates, but the onlookers began to hear screams and cries of creatures unlike anything in this world coming from inside the manor. The sound of muskets and pistols going off inside, began to muffle the demonic sounds but the screams of terror of the townspeople from inside grew louder as the same roaring creature from those horrid nights could be heard clear as day. With the yelling of the Baron, the ground shook as the Manor began to fill with a purple light, and strange crunching sounds echoed from the walls of the Manor. The screams getting louder until finally the Baron was taken down.
The townspeople exited the manor covered blood, black icker and even some missing limbs... But with the Baron in chains. They tied him up to an old oak tree in front of his home and tried him as a warlock. Before they could issue their sentence of death... The Baron openly placed a horrific curse on the town and all the citizens in it. That as the town had risen up against him, that he would later rise from the dead and make all those responsible pay for their actions, and last for generations to come. Upon the Baron's last words... the same vengeful townsman threw a torch at him to begin his sentence. It is said that the ground quaked and violent storms descended on the town as the Baron burned against that tree. And as his last breath left his body... a wave of purple light exited his body, and a mass of dark tendrils began to leach into the ground.
It's been three hundred years since terror struck the town of Mahwah... Three hundred years and no one has dared enter the old Haunted Palace of Baron Ravenscroft. Until now! On autumn nights... screams can once again be heard from Ravenscroft Manor.
